Let me blog about the first week before more weeks zoom by me. Breathtaking :3
Though i only had a lecture a day (yea 5-day week, thrice in a row!) i spent more timein school than that. Strange.. What was i doing then?
Monday was the first day of school. Ugh. A singapore studies module, "Changing Landscapes of Singapore" by the geog dept, at 2pm (phew could sleep longer). At first i was, "oh no last time i took geog was in sec2!" (though i liked it, especially physical geog). But after looking at the powerpoint slides on sunday night (last night of freedom and i was gan jiong already), it seemed promising. Like the point that landscapes can be imaginary. Ooo.. Im taking this mod with Cindi (buddy from arts camp) and Eileen (3rd time tgt! Met her all the way at her sci in sem1).
After that i was left alone (Cindi had her og lunch and eileen got lect) so i went all over central forum, getting the paperworks. 2soci readings+jap student packet=$40! The thickest is soci of work, at $19+ :(. haha. Also printed a week's worth of notes at AS7 (central library no longer have a queue system! Full of hoogers now -_- AS7 was quiet in comparison) Managed to get the free NUSSU organizer. More space to write daily stuffs but is heavy cuz is hard cover.
Tuesday was Soci of Food day! At 12pm. I was late 20min and sat for another 20min before it ended -_-. Good that i didnt come to school for nothing though cuz there were other things later. Was to take this with Xie Ai (met her in JC, but wasnt close until we met in sem2 for Emotions mod :D) Turned out Shu Fen and her fren, and Yu Wei and her fren, is taking this too. There is this strange tension between me and Yu Wei. She have become 'harder' since sec sch. I also got my SS and anthro book from Xie Ai and Jonathan (Karate senior). Save $$! ^^
At 2pm, i was to meet up with Sherry and Victor (met in Anime club and hit off this hols :D) for lunch at engin. But Sherry had other plans. hehe. There was a Geog Club reception after her geog exposure mod (she's yr3 by the way) and we crashed it. Yummy! The eclairs were great as usual. The famous geog prof (KC Chang) approached our group, to see if we had any questions. An awkward silence ensued. :3 Victor and i then edited the Anime Club newsletter. At 7pm, Ming Hui (karate senior) and i went for the CMAD rehearsal at MPSH. We were to help with the lighting.
Wednesday was soci of work day, with Agustin and Fiona (who's with her fren). Before that i met Nat and WanShan at boon lay. Was quite late when we reached NTU. Finally got to see Ah bao's and QQ's room! Envied NTU's fiesty hall life for a while then. And the sushi (ala carte) at Sakae was yummy! Found out that it isnt that expensive and my stomach wont be uncomfortably full unlike after my usual buffet binge. Really late for lecture, 40min like that. The lecturer was caring of her students, just that this mod gotta write 8-10page assignment (longest so far) had the thickest coursepack, and much historical aka dry perspective. Ugh. Went home together with Fiona after that. She's such a lifely girl, and was Chee Mei's JC classmate. :D We may be able to take a jap tutorial tgt. After that was tuition. -_- Samuel is getting more uncontrollable. Gosh. Prelims are next week hor, boy!
Oh no type so long only at wednesday!
Thursday was anthropology day. Im taking this alone. Also, i was intimidated by the looong module outline in sem2, and dropped it. This sem, i just had to pre-allocate it again, to be confronted by the same module outline -_-. Fiona said this shows im really interested in it. Haha didnt think of it that way. Thought i was weak to let go just cuz of a page of chim words! It turned out that the lecturer is a nice chap, and it really is interesting! Glad i took it after all. Could feel my world view tweaking during the lecture (that's why i like soci! :D)
Now for the taking-it-alone issue. Hope i dun see anyone i dont like. Heh. Saw John (arts camp house i/c), was paiseh abit cuz i was late and alone (augh there's no shame in tat!), asked him if his seats were taken (they were). After the lect ended he and his fren left without a word, though he did msg me later to ask wat tutorial slot im taking. Whether it's to take it with me or to avoid me, that's another matter. :3 The awkwardness of half-baked acquaintances. Which is one of the sore points of going to school and hi-byeing with these people. Next up is the exciting event of CMAD (combined martial arts display)!
For CMAD, me and minghui is to be cooped up at the AVA room with our respective technicians. Turned out that i was to be the one controlling which track to be played. Stress xia. My sound tech was to control the volume. Though the full dress rehearsal was fun fiddling around with the buttons (they didnt even realize that i repeated the track when it ended, so fast were my reflexes!) and joking via headsets (guys joke to ease tension. Ben, the 1st time stage manager too, didnt had very high EQ :3). Wow but when the hall started getting filled, the jitters were there! And lasted till the next day. I escaped with only a few bloopers. One case of wrong track cuz i turned the knob too much in my ganjiongness and spent time looking wat trackto go back to. The other, a missing sound effect, was un-noticed by the audience so nevermind. I think more rehearsals in UCC itself will be better. Than i can feel some fulfilment and involvment. After that was karate supper. It was only a bunch of guys. Felt uncertain and tired after that though..
Friday was Jap2 day, to be taken with Cindi. though the lecture was at 4pm, i had to report to school for Anime Club booth duty at 10am. Though i was late for only 15min, the new chaiperson didnt want to leave his seminar for a while to pass me the things to be set up! Grrr... And i was the one to contact him once i woke up in the morning, which was by then too late. Hah. His EQ is low too. I then went to the library to do yoshuu for jap2. It has been a long time since i got involved in school work too. U can juz get engrossed while doing it. ^^ A breath of air then, before the madness of quizes start (there's one every tutorial, and there are 3 of them, and lecture)
There was a wrinkle in lunch arrangment as i thought Xie Ai wont be having lunch with me so i asked Cindi to come earlier. In the end Cindi went off to lunch with her og (feels the separation again, cuz we headed diff ogs). After 2hours off trailing around school (had to return Hendra's CMAD pass to UCC -_- i'm too responsible) with Cindi and Adelaine, the jap2 lecture started proper. Kitae sensei, the coordinator, spoke so fast! Saitou sensei was her usual wry self, and was rushing thru the grammer points. Wa.. Not many familiar faces either. And the standard seems to have risen alot, with many 'hidden talents'. Hah.
After that was the Dean's ceremony! At first Xie Ai and i didnt wanna go, juz get cert then zao. But i remembered that this may well be a once-in-a-lifetime thing, so we went after all. It was an experience. I felt the aura of smart people. And saw 2 seniors there! One from Karate (chinese studies) and the other Anime Club (english lit). We could only wave though. I felt pressured cuz of this award. Like i have to uphold this honour. Felt tense then (after effects of CMAD still there). Decided that this sem, i shld hang out more. Relax. For my mental and physical health. I did take modules that i like this sem. Not CAP boosters. Though there are no more sci mods i can take. Strange that for the past 2 sems, i will be taking a pharmacy mod each and that will be my highest grade out of the rest of the other (arts) mods. -_- Saw the famous geog lecturer (opps hope he deosent link me with food) along with other bigshots. haha. The eccentric botak psyc lecturer was there too. Had a good time with Xie Ai. Eating, talking. Ah~
Saturday, i hauled myself to the 2 tuitions, had yummy gan lao mian at marsiling, then met drea and nat goh at orchard. Tried on a few daniel yam gowns since we were at og. :D I had to help them ask for og card. Felt tense while asking, and also lyk im making use of the kind lady. Got a free pearl and lousy pen with their vouchers. ^^ Bought nice light purple pumps!! Will wear them to school tmr. :)
Today, went to work at Juz Edu. Was irritated a few times cuz it was a new batch of people, but we had a nice time at the end snacking. Haha work should be like that! No more weekday work for me there! Was so tired when i came back in the evening. Gonna continue with Ouran high tonight. Yea!
What now. It has been such a long time already. :(
