My first day of work!!
At Ricoh. Never heard of it before today. Then while i was waiting for someone to collect me from the receptionist's sofas, i kaypoh-ed at the company magazines and promotions. It seems that they are well known for their colour photocopiers. Their advertisement looked familiar-that of a coloured-spotted doggy. (thought tat was for Nippon) Thought i will working side be side with wan shan or bernice or other temps but i was alone up on the 3rd floor! :( As ws and her fren wei ting left me at the receptionist's sofas, i started to panic. Gosh im gonna fend for myself!!! As the HR person came, my voice was juz a mumble n i didnt dare do small talk though she was friendly.
Started at 9.30am. Ended at 1.30pm. -_-
Cuz she didnt have anything left for me to do.
Today's pay: $19.50
Journey:
-bus to marsiling (was running late, had no choice! augh my 65c!!),
-2-waytrain ride to Redhill (wah i didnt noe is so far out on the green line! Luckily the green line is fast. Temptingly near Bugis ^^)
-60c salmon & cheese sushi (dun taste nice. The cheese is weird. I felt tat i own myself some good food. Had eaten home food for the past week)
-walked home

I forgot to include in the one hour lunch break. Thought i could earn lots!
Basically im helping this very nice HR person in her manual labour.
Today, i did sorting/matching a pile of photos to those on the passes. Now i know that those with the bright red pass hung around the neck are Ricoh pp. They are quite friendly, cheena pp (with a major epidemic of smokers) as i eavesdrop on their conversations. I was so nervous in the morn lah. Cant really concentrate on her instructions, scared i mess up or wat. Augh. Anxious till my ovaries are wringing from the fall in hormones. Crossed my legs a lil too tightly till my bladder too tense lah. But after lunch, i was better. But i really wanna give a gd impression! Slowly ba. I take a long time to warm up to people. But if they are worthy, im a stayer. ^^ Then i helped carry and sort out files, calculate the hours some workers'd clocked. Hmmm why doesnt school teach useful stuff like how to calculate time? Or too rusty le, this pri sch ting. Cant really read time in 24hr. Lucky mum got tell me juz 24 minus that offending no. can le, just last week.
And bernice said her job is really leg shakingly slack. While wan shan's is quite tense cuz got a fixed allocation of green paper to key in. Hmmm i will still prefer a job tat is more challenging though its the same pay? Shouldnt have made fun of the date entry job cuz i may be joining them.
Looks like for a job, im more worrie dbout getting along well with my superiors and co-workers than the job itself. What if my new handler is mean, impatient and foul mouthed? Augh. I will suffer. But i will cultivate a thicker hide. At the expense of my ovaries and bladder. *_*
It seems that being at the 3rd floor is better off than at the first (where bernice n wan shan is), cuz there is a free flow of Diamond Water (believed to bring many health benefits, an expensive water that i hav nvr heard of cuz i dun watch s'pore channels, but i tink it tastes lighter than normal water), a stocked pantry, convenient toilet access, and a working lift. The ironically named 'Fireman's' lift keeps getting stuck at the 3rd floor, door cant open then it goes back down. -_- Wah if got fire how sia. Choi!
Hope tml will be better! Now that my nervous system isnt that tense, maybe i can relax enuf to enjoy and sight-see. Gonna wear my relaxing blue agate bracelet there, sponsered by mum. ^^ May the $$ continue to roll in!
