Food Fest
From the looks of it, I didnt cheong as i had determined to (see previous post).
The first day of national day holiday shall be called the food fest day. My mother, lil sis and i went shopping at the nearby ntuc, and bought $50 worth of good food! Dunno why, everytime we go on grocery shopping, the bills always amount to that *guilt* Anyway we bought a box of fresh cherries (havent eaten these for a year!), a box of assorted Taiwan red bean ice cream (to have a preview, just go 7-11! they stock wonderful, exptic ice cream from hong kong, taiwan and japan. such yummy combinations! Like mango chunks in vanilla cream, black sesame paste in a crisp diary skin, red bean coated with glutinuous rice cream, etc. These traditional ingredients have been made use of to create attractive products with great packaging! But actually, i find them too sweet. haha ^^) Ok and we bought two cans of family-sized campbell soup for supper (they go well with plain instant noodles, just like those creamy pasta u dream of from pasta mania!) i bought a box of Morinagawa (or Morinaga?) 'Dars' bitter chocolate. It comes in cute cubes, but its still not as shiok as Meiji dark choc which my brother got as his birthday present! I also bought chilli tapioca chips (used to eat this during primary school, when i long for that violent, spicy kick that brings tears to your eyes. Haha im sadist! ^^ same case as SA chicken rice chilli) Laden with bags, as we left Woodgrove (the mini shopping centre near my house) we bought durians. The temporary store that sets up twice a year is a really reliable one. They have a long list of regular customers (my mum included). Sometimes i have this craving for the very bitter, creamy and intoxicating fruit (yes i love XO and D24, dunno e diff, a true durian fan!! Muahaha) Next time u wanna buy durians, come to woodgrove and i will bring my mum along and we can have a durian fest! ^o^ Wednesday is foodie day!!
